Definition and Brief Description:

To get an idea about HTML, let us first understand the basics that form the basis of the markup language. HTML (Hypertext Markup Language) is a shorthand used for organizing and presenting content on the web. This is a standard system. If you want to create web pages, then it becomes mandatory for you to get information about HTML.

Major Components of HTML:

HTML is made up of tags, elements and attributes. Elements are the building blocks of HTML. Which provide different types of content information like- headings, paragraphs, images and many more. These elements are placed within the opening and closing tags. These tags are identified by angle brackets. For example, the <p> tag is used to write a paragraph. Similarly <b> tag is used to make a text bold.

If you want to write a paragraph in HTML, then first you have to start by writing <p> tag. After this, you will write the paragraph you want to write. Then we will end it by putting </p> tag at the very end. Here <p> is called opening tag for paragraph and </p> tag is called closing tag for paragraph.

It is very important to know the tags to get the information of HTML, because it defines the purpose of each element and its structure. Using tags, you tell the browser how the element you render will appear in the browser.

Different types of tags are used to perform different functions. For example, if you want to display an image in a web browser, you must use the <img> tag and if you want to provide information about the source file of that image, use the "src" attribute.

By knowing these basics of HTML, you can organize elements and use the proper tags and attributes to begin building a web page. As we keep getting information about it, you will be able to understand all these things easily and will also be able to use it better.
